Graded Care Profile 2 refresher

Target Audience

This refresher session is designed for GCP2 licensed Social Workers and Early Help practitioners working in Children’s Services and education-based safeguarding who require an update or renewed confidence in using the Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2).

Aim

The session will revisit the Graded Care Profile 2, an evidence-based tool used in Blackpool to assess the quality of parental care and identify potential neglect. As attendees are already licensed, this half-day workshop focuses on updating knowledge, refreshing skills, and ensuring the tool is used confidently and consistently in practice.

Objectives

• Reinforce understanding of the GCP2 framework and refresh existing skills.

• Revisit key concepts relating to identifying and assessing neglect.

• Provide updated information on local processes, guidance, and support available when completing the GCP2 with families.
